Fresh off his flight, Amos was craving a good meal, so we began weighing our lunch options! A quick search on Urbanspoon showed that Bowery to Williamsburg was one of the most talked-about cafés on the scene right now, so we decided to go with just that. The café takes inspiration from the subways of New York City, and counts perennial NYC favourites like lox and cream cheese bagels as part of its menu. Bagels and sandwiches go for AUD$12.50, but you can choose to add an extra AUD$4 to make it a set meal, which includes a side, some pretzels and a pickle.
Amos got the hot smoked salmon sandwich, (below) which consists of smoked salmon with caviar cream cheese, heirloom tomatoes, fried capers and radish on two slices of rye bread. He was thoroughly satisfied with his pick, and even more satisfied with the mac 'n' cheese that he chose as his side. It came in a cute little jar, and had a nice crust from the cheese at the top. Once broken, it gave way to a creamy mac 'n' cheese that wasn't overwhemingly cheesy, which I liked.
I ordered the roast beef special, (above) which came with some onion gravy on the side to dip my baguette in. I was terribly disappointed with my roast beef sandwich - I found the meat tough, and hard to bite into.
Bowery to Williamsburg does, however, serve up a rockin' cup of coffee - I had a flat white and savoured every last drop of it.

On the whole, I thought it was a cute concept, and worth visiting only for some items on the menu!
