A recent revelation of mine was that clothes are just that - clothes. If the outfit looks awful, then that's fine - you can strip it off, and work with a clean canvas all over again. There is no big deal. People have been making fashion faux pas for decades, and if you look ridiculous, all you'll have is a hilarious (and perhaps slightly horrific) memory of what you wore in your 20s. With that revelation in place, this fear of mine dissipated - the fear of looking stupid or being laughed at, which made me take what I wore a little too seriously.
A recent closet excavation found this gem, and I quickly fell back in love with it and will probably take it back with me when I return to Melbourne. (what can I say? fickle is thy heart.)
